Indian bowlers wreaked havoc on the Sri Lankan batters as they thrashed the visitors by 238 runs in the just-concluded pink-ball day and night Test match at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. With this win, team India registered a clean sweep in the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka. It was also India’s straight 14th victory across different formats ever since he took over the captaincy.
The match also turned out to be a special one for Indian ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah, who registered his first five-for at home in the first innings, before picking another three scalps to his name in the second innings. Though he hogged the limelight with his terrific bowling skills, but it was his wonderful gesture for Sri Lanka pacer Suranga Lakmal that has won everyone’s hearts on the internet.
Well, on Day 3 of the game, Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Sri Lankan Suranga Lakmal, however, he was quick to congratulate the Sri Lankan fast bowler, who was playing the last game of his international career.
After dismissing him, Bumrah didn’t celebrate the wicket and ran towards the bowler and congratulated him. Both the players exchanged handshakes and Indian captain Rohit Sharma and batting maestro Virat Kohli came forward to congratulate the player.
Lakmal was also given a special guard of honor by the players from both the dressing rooms as he walked back to the pavilion.
The video of the incident was shared by BCCI on Twitter and ever since then it has been going viral on the internet and has left everyone in awe of the heart-winning gesture of Bumrah.

Fans on social media have been showering praises on Bumrah for his amazing gesture. Among many, a journalist from Sri Lanka, Andrew Fidel Fernando, also took to his Twitter and wrote a beautiful Tweet for the Indian bowler. He wrote:
“Jasprit Bumrah bowls the retiring Suranga Lakmal, then runs right up to him puts an arm around him, and shakes his hand. The rest of the India team get around him and do the same. Heart full.”
