On Sunday, Jaydev Unadkat of the Lucknow Super Giants incurred a shoulder injury, with IPL broadcasters revealing the news through footage from LSG’s practice session at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow for the IPL 2023 match against Royal Challengers Bangalore. In the video, Unadkat can be seen tripping on his bowling arm while practicing at the nets, injuring his shoulder.

Unadkat was seen in terrible pain. He was immediately provided the aid with an ice pack by the team physio. However, Lucknow Super Giants are yet to bring out an official statement giving an update on the injury and the extent of it.

Meanwhile, if Unadkat gets ruled out of the World Test Championship final, it will surely hurt India’s plan given that another fast bowler Umesh Yadav also has an injury concern. Umesh missed KKR’s last game owing to a niggle. The remaining fast bowling unit of team India remains – Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Shami, and Mohammed Siraj.

As per a report, the Indian cricket team has 2 pacers in their 5-member stand-by list for the WTC final which includes Navdeep Saini and Mukesh Kumar, and hence one of them could be brought in.
