The Gujarat Titans won the Indian Premier League in their first attempt on Sunday under the guidance of captain Hardik Pandya, who led his team to an emphatic seven-wicket victory over Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2022 final match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Hardik Pandya, who was receiving criticism from all the corners for a long time now because of his poor performances following his back injury, made a stellar return to form as he gave an all-around show to take his side to their maiden IPL title.
In fact, Pandya-led Gujarat Titans was one of the most consistent sides throughout the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League. Under the leadership of Pandya, GT became the first to enter the playoff stage of the IPL 2022 after picking up 20 points in the league phase of IPL 2022. Continuing their brilliant run in the playoffs, GT once again outclassed Rajasthan Royals first in Qualifier 1 and then in the final showdown as well.
In IPL 2022 final match, Hardik became the center of attraction as he first produced a stunning spell with the ball as he picked three wickets for just 17 runs to help his side restrict Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals to 130 runs for nine in 20 overs. Hardik Pandya rattled the side as he dismissed their top three players – Sanju Samson, Jos Buttler, and Shimron Hetmyer.
Then coming out to bat, Hardik played a crucial cameo to steady the ship in the chase after Gujarat had lost two early wickets.
