KKR vs SRH: Shreyas Iyer Got Trolled Badly On Twitter For His Duck

KKR captain Shreyas Iyer got brutally trolled on social media following his two-ball duck against SRH in his first match of the IPL 2024 campaign.

Shreyas Iyer, who often gets trolled for his shortcomings against the short ball, this time got out to a length ball from T Natarajan. He mistimed his loft and chipped a catch to mid-off, where Pat Cummins, the SRH captain, made the perfect jump to take an excellent catch.

This was Iyer’s return to the IPL: he had missed IPL 2023 due to a back injury, for which he required surgery. He made a successful comeback last year and had a great World Cup 2023 tournament. However, this year, he lost his place in the Test team and was then involved in a controversial saga with the BCCI that saw him and Ishan Kishan lose their BCCI central contracts.

With the T20 World Cup slated immediately after the IPL, the KKR captain must be targeting IPL to stake a claim for himself. However, he got off to a false start in front of the home KKR crowd at the Eden Gardens by bagging a two-ball duck.

Natarajan slanted a ball across to Shreyas Iyer, who looked to go over the in-field. However, he couldn’t clear mid-off where Cummins timed his jump to perfection and plucked a brilliant catch. This led to heavy trolling of the KKR skipper.
