Lasith Malinga is one of the most unorthodox fast bowlers in the history of the game. His slinging action and spot-on accuracy has troubled some of the best batsmen of his generation.

For a very long period of time, Lasith Malinga, with his action, speed and accuracy, was the most effective fast bowler in limited-overs cricket.

However, if we talk about the present scenario, Lasith Malinga is the bowler he used to be till a couple of years ago. Due to age factor and recurring injuries, Malinga has gained weight and he is not as fit as he used to be.

Chasing an achievable target, LB Finance trotted along to score 125 runs for 7 wickets in 25 overs when bad light stopped play. Sahan Arachchige scored 26 runs, Priyamal Perera scored an unbeaten 24 runs and Kusal Mendis scored 24 runs.

Recentl, Lasith Malinga led his side to a victory in MCA Premier League Knock-Out tournament beating LB Finance by 82 runs according to the D/L method.

Interestingly bowled off-spinners in order to quickly go through the overs, during the match. It was a good change to see the deadly speedster bowl gentle off-spines and tempt batters to go for big hits.

Malinga took three wickets for 22 runs and Sachithra Senanayake took 3 wickets for 35 runs. Shalika Karunanayake of Teejay Lanka was adjudged man of the match.
