The ongoing 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League is going on in full swing. The fans have witnessed some really amazing shots so far in the tournament. Recently, Faf du Plessis, the captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore stole all the limelight as he smashed the longest six of the ongoing tournament.
Faf du Plessis smashed the longest six of the IPL 2023:
During a clash between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Lucknow Super Giants, Faf smashed a 115-meter six against in Bengaluru. During the game, Faf du Plessis completely dominated the LSG bowlers taking the RCB’s total over 200 run mark at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. He took the opposition bowlers to attack toward the final overs of the RCB innings.
First, Kohli fired 61 off 44 balls to his team on the front foot, and later on Glenn Maxwell joined forces and later on Glenn Maxwell joined forces with captain Faf du Plessis to keep RCB’s run rate over 10 runs per over.

During the game, du Plessis smashed a big shot off the backfoot against LSG’s leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi. He struck the ball with such power that it went outside the M Chinnaswamy Stadium and even Glenn Maxwell was shocked by the shot.
While it was the longest six of the ongoing season, however, the record for the longest six in the history of the Indian Premier League belongs to former South Africa all-rounder Albie Morkel.
Morkel smashed the ball 125 meters while playing for Chennai Super Kings against Deccan Chargers in the year 2008. Surprisingly, the second-longest six was smashed by the former Indian pacer bowler Praveen Kumar.
