“People Will Forget He Won 2 World Cups,” Says Manoj Tiwary On Gambhir-Kohli Row : Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli are being criticized from all corners for their behavior earlier this season during the matches between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Both were fined 100 percent of their match fees for their ugly spat at the end of the RCB-LSG game in Lucknow.
Gambhir had shushed at the crowd after LSG defeated RCB in a high-scoring last-ball thriller in Bangalore. Virat Kohli returned the favor, and some more, in his own style, when taking catches and in the field during RCB’s victory over LSG in Lucknow.
Virat Kohli had had a go at LSG’s Naveen-ul-Haq as well, which seemed to have triggered Gambhir even more. After the match ended, both came head-on in a heated verbal dispute which needed other members of both the teams and staffs to separate the two hot-headed superstars who were part of the 2011 World Cup winning side.
Former India batsman and a former KKR teammate of Gambhir, Manoj Tiwary, has said that the BCCI should take more action than just docking match fees. Tiwary, who himself had an ugly row with Gambhir years ago when both played in domestic cricket, said that the board officials should try to get to the bottom of this scuffle between the RCB and LSG stars.
“BCCI should step in. This is not a pleasant sight, especially when you are an ambassador of the game, you shouldn’t do such things. IPL is one of the most popular tournaments in the world, a lot of people watch it, especially youngsters. A lot of young people want to become like Virat Kohli. So, it is important to find the root cause of clashes like these. Healthy competition is good for the sport but not incidents like these,” Tiwary said on Cricbuzz.
People mostly will remember Gambhir for his aggression: Manoj Tiwary

Manoj Tiwary reckons that avatar of Gambhir, brawling out with a former teammate, might tarnish some of Gautam Gambhir’s legacy as a two-time World Cup winner and a two-time IPL winning skipper.
“This cannot go on. These two are icons as I had said earlier. When icons quit cricket, people want to remember them for what they have done on the field rather than other things. People mostly will remember Gambhir for his aggression, that will be the first thing that will come to their mind. They will forget that he has played a major role in India winning two World Cups. This should not happen. This is not the right example to set,” Tiwary added.
