Speaking after the match, Yadav shared insights into his successful bowling. He stressed that bowling fast requires more than just physical strength. Yadav expressed the significance of a holistic approach, including diet, sleep, and training. He revealed:

There are a lot of factors to bowl quick – diet, sleep, training. I am focusing a lot on my diet and recovery – ice bath.”

Mayank Yadav emphasized his focus on diet and recovery routines, mentioning the inclusion of ice baths in his training process has helped him a lot.

Mayank Yadav tore through the RCB batting lineup, dismissing Glenn Maxwell, Cameron Green, and Rajat Patidar. His lethal weapon was his sheer raw pace, consistently clocking deliveries over 150 kmph. At one point, Mayank even reached a speed of 156.7 kmph, marking the fastest bowl in IPL 2024.

Mayank’s blistering pace unsettled the RCB batters, playing a pivotal role for Lucknow Super Giants in securing a comfortable 28-run victory.

Mayank holds the record for bowling most 155+ deliveries

Three days after his IPL debut, Mayank has already etched his name in the history books of this league by bowling the most deliveries at 155 km/h or over. Among all bowlers in IPL history, only five bowlers have achieved this feat. Remarkably, the 21-year-old fast bowler from the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) occupies two of the six spots on this exclusive list.

Shaun Tait currently holds the record for the fastest ball bowled in the Indian Premier League, clocking at 157.71 km/h. Mayank Yadav, meanwhile, occupies the fourth and sixth spots on the list with speeds of 156.7 km/h and 155.8 km/h, respectively. Impressively, despite bowling just 8 overs (48 balls) in the IPL so far, Yadav has already surpassed renowned pacers like Shaun Tait, Lockie Ferguson, Umran Malik, and Anrich Nortje in terms of speed.
