Finally the suspense around who will be playing the role of Sakshi Dhoni in MS Dhoni’s biopic, directed by Neeraj Pandey, seem to have ended. According to Bombay Times, Kiara Advani, niece of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) co-owner Juhi Chawla, is likely to play Sakshi’s role. Kiara made her Bollywood debut in Kabir Sadanand’s Fugly and will star opposite Sushant Singh Rajput, who plays Dhoni the film MS Dhoni: The Untold Story. “It was quite challenging to find the right girl to play Sakshi as people at large have seen her quite frequently on television and in person, so they would tend to compare. Neeraj was clear that he wanted a young actress in this biopic. He didn’t wish to cast a leading lady who has done many roles because he didn’t want the audience to have a preconceived notion or form an impression about her. He basically wanted an actor without baggage,” a source said. According to the report, Kiara’s chemistry with Sushant during audition and rehearsals was unparalleled.
Earlier, some reports also suggested that John Abraham is to play fast bowler Ishant Sharma, Fawad Khan will be seen playing Virat Kohli, Bigg Boss 8 contestant Gautam Gulati will be essaying Zaheer Khan’s character and Aftab Shivdasani will be seen as Joginder Sharma. Also some of the important non-cricketing characters will be played by B-Town’s big league actors.
