Former Indian captain and batting maestro Virat Kohli stole the show with his bat against Pakistan in the Super Four round of the ongoing Asia Cup. After being put in to bat first, the Rohit Sharma-led Indian cricket team got off to a brilliant start before India lost started losing wickets in quick successions. However, Virat Kohli held the innings together for the team and helped the team to propel to a score of 181/7 in their 20 overs.
After Pakistan won the toss and chose to bowl first; Indian openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul gave their side a solid start by adding a quick-fire-50-runstand. However, the Indian side lost an array of wickets, which slowed down their momentum in the middle overs. However, Virat took the responsibility on his shoulders and continued his golden run of form in the ongoing 2022 edition of the Asia Cup by registering his second consecutive half-century of the tournament. Kohli reached the half-century in 36 balls. He smashed a stunning six over the long-on boundary line to complete his fifty.

Several experts had raised questions over Kohli’s place in the team following a terrible dip in the form during the IPL 2022, followed by the tour of England, Virat Kohli put the poor run of form behind him and silenced his critics in style. He played a solid knock of 60 off just 44 balls, hitting four boundaries and six.
