Mumbai Indians is the most successful franchise in the IPL history, having won 5 titles in 15 seasons so far.
They had a rough start in the first couple of seasons before Sachin Tendulkar captained the side to the final in 2010, but they lost to CSK then.
MI took wholesome revenge for that loss as they then defeated CSK in 3 IPL finals; in the other two, they defeated RPSG and DC.
After being given the captaincy mid-season in 2013, Rohit Sharma turned it all around for MI: no title from 2008 to 2012; 5 trophies from 2013 to 2020. They have had a couple of ordinary seasons in the past two years and MI would be itching to turn it around again in IPL 2023.
In this article, we tell you about the income of the Mumbai Indians:

Who owns Mumbai Indians IPL team?
The Mumbai Indians franchise is owned by one of India’s largest conglomerates, Reliance Industries, through its 100% subsidiary Indiawin Sports Private Limited.
In 2022, Mumbai Indians was labeled as the IPL’s most valuable franchise at $1.3 billion (Rs 9968 crore approximately) by Forbes.
As per the Forbes report, alongside being evaluated at $1.3 billion, Mumbai Indians also generated a huge revenue of $33 million (Rs 254 crore approx) and an operating income of $5.5 million (Rs 42.17 crore approx.).
The report explained that MI are reaping the benefits in 2022 of their consistent success, despite the team being a failure on the field in IPL 2022, finishing last in the points table, enduring their worst-ever season.
“This season, we have had significant double-digit growth in our brand valuation and sponsorship revenue as well, from last year, and we continue to lead the chart in total sponsorship revenue and quality of brands,” a Mumbai Indians spokesperson said.
Mumbai Indians has almost two dozen sponsor partners – the most among all IPL franchises.
“Our sponsorship pool has a strong combination of established Indian brands, start-ups, and global brands that we have built long-term partnerships with. We are a preferred franchise for global brands, with TeamViewer joining us this year, and we have had long-term associations with DHL, Marriott Bonvoy, and Cadbury Dairy Milk. Slice has joined us as Principal Sponsor for three years and brands continue to extend their partnerships with us, year on year. Our brand partner portfolio evolves, and we bring in like-minded partners with whom we can work long term and build value for both brands,” the spokesperson added.
Back in 2017, the Mumbai Indians became the first franchise to cross the $100 million mark in brand value among the IPL franchises. The brand value of Mumbai Indians, in 2019, was estimated to be around ₹809 crore (roughly $115 million), the highest among all the IPL franchises for the fourth consecutive year.
The evaluation of the other IPL teams are:
Kolkata Knight Riders {$1.1 billion (Rs 8433 crore approx)}
Lucknow Super Giants {$1.075 billion(Rs 8242 crore approx)}
Delhi Capitals {$1.035 billion (Rs 7935 crore approx)}
Royal Challengers Bangalore {$1.025 billion (Rs 7858 crore approx)}

Sunrisers Hyderabad {$970 million (Rs 7437 crore approx)}
Punjab Kings {$925 million (Rs 7092 crore approx)}

The reason for this gigantic growth in the accounts of all IPL teams are the passionate, cricket-obsessed fans, the numbers of which keep growing at the rate of knots, in India and around the world.
