It’s interesting to note that during that season, Rohit scored a hat-trick against the Mumbai Indians, with Abhishek Nayar, Harbhajan Singh, and JP Duminy falling to the part-superb timer’s 4/6 spell.

Rohit Sharma was purchased by Mumbai Indians for a sum of INR 9.2 crore in the 2011 IPL mega auction. Since then the franchise has ensured to retain him as their No.1 choice player in every mega auction. Ahead of the 2022 IPL mega auction, Rohit was retained for a whopping amount of INR 16 crore.
