Congratulations (again) on winning the post of the Indian Cricket Team’s Head Coach! Well done. You’ve finally managed to walk the talk and put an end to all the confusion around the whole team. This appointment means that you will leave one love of your life (the mic) and re-unite with your other love – Virat Kohli.
Anyway, jokes apart, the future looks promising if you are able to figure out a way to make these boys work to your methods. Kohli seems like he’s really uninterested in the whole concept of a coach only and only you can take control of the situation.
Also, since you’ve been appointed the coach till the 2019 World Cup, please ensure that we do not get complacent. If things continue this way, we won’t really need a coach, or a team, because Virat will take care of everything.
Keep the King happy:
If reports are to be believed, Kohli pushed for your name to be selected and only you will be able toensure that he remains happy. A happy Kohli is a destructive one and we need him to be in prime form for the World Cup.
Since you’re the only one who knows how to keep him happy, please ensure that he remains so. Also, please make sure Zaheer teaches the likes of Shami and Bumrah how to soak pressure and bowl those crucial middle overs.
And the fielding. Yes, it is above par but it has been found wanting in the most important of circumstances. Please make sure that there are less tracer bullets from the opponents because at the end of the day, cricket (Read:You) are the real winner.
