As per reports from Crizbuzz, former India head coach and legendary player, Rahul Dravid is set to become the head coach of Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2025. Kumar Sangakkara, who is serving as the head coach of Rajasthan Royals till now might move to the ECB as England Head Coach.
Rahul Dravid Is Set To Replace Kumar Sangakkara In Rajasthan Royals as the Head Coach
Dravid has a good bonding with the Rajasthan Royal team, having played as a player, a captain and also served as the mentor of the team. Moreover, he has a very good experience as a coach. He coached the U-19 Indian team to World Cup win, has been the coach of the India A team, has served in the NCA and also as the head coach of the senior men’s Indian Cricket Team.
Under Dravid, Team India qualified for the final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022, qualified for the final of the ICC World Test Championship 2023, qualified for the final of the ODI World Cup 202 without losing any game and now won the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 without losing any game. So, he will definitely turn out to be a good head coach option for the Royals.
On the other hand, Matthew Mott has stepped down as England Men’s white-ball Head Coach after some disastrous performances from England in limited overs cricket in the last two years. England got knocked out of the group stage in the ODI World Cup 2023 in India and then got knocked out of the semi final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
Sangakkara will definitely be a good option for the ECB as he is a legend, has a plethora of experience as a player and also as a coach.
