Team India’s senior batsman Cheteshwar Pujara had a poor outing on Day 1 of the ongoing first Test match between India and South Africa in Centurion as he failed to leave a mark with his performance. However, a heartwarming gesture from Rahul Dravid brought a smile back on his face.

Cheteshwar Pujara, who has been going through a rough phase in his career, hasn’t had the best of times in international cricket lately. Due to his bad form and lack of runs, questions were raised on his position in the playing XI of team India. However, the Indian team management showed faith in him and decided to back their senior batsman, who failed to live up to the expectations of team India and the fans.

The senior batsman failed to contribute any run with the bat as he was seen walking back to the pavilion for a first-ball DUCK. It was an inswinging delivery that Pujara failed to tackle with the bat.

Meanwhile, a video has been going viral on social media, which has left everyone in awe of Rahul Dravid. In the video, India’s new head coach Rahul Dravid can be seen cheering Pujara by patting him on the back, which left the batter in smiles. Team India’s seamer Jasprit Bumrah and Priyank Panchal can also be seen in the frame.

Talking about the game, despite Pujara’s failure and Virat’s dismissal, the Indian cricket team found themselves in a good position before the start of the play on Day 2. Riding on a stunning century of KL Rahul and a good contribution by opener Mayank Agarwal at the top, the visitors amassed 272-3 on the board at the close of play on an opening day. Meanwhile, on day 2 the game was delayed because of the rain.

Ajinkya Rahane, who is playing on 40, will resume India’s charge alongwith KL Rahul, who is batting on 122.
