An ugly controversy gripped Indian cricket after the Indian skipper Virat Kohli addressed many much-talk-about issues in a press conference ahead of India’s departure for the South Africa tour. Amidst all the drama going on in Indian cricket, Kohli maintained his calm and answered some pressing questions. However, some of his explosive comments have also given rise to a lot of new questions that remain unanswered so far.
On Wednesday, during the press conference, Virat Kohli contradicted the recent statements made by the BCCI President. For the unversed, recently in an interview, Sourav Ganguly had claimed that the Indian board had asked Virat Kohli to not step down as the T20I captain of team India as they weren’t planning any change in leadership. But Virat revealed that he was never offered to not leave the T20I captaincy.
“I told the BCCI before giving up T20I captaincy,” Kohli said. “I told them my point of view. I gave the reasons why I wanted to quit T20 captaincy and my view point was received very nicely. There was no offence, no hesitation and not for once was I told that ‘you should not leave T20 captaincy’.” Virat had said.
Meanwhile, the explosive statements from Virat Kohli led to a full-fledged debate on social media, with several fans and cricketers coming up with their own opinions on this matter. While many are slamming Sourav Ganguly and the board, there are many who are calling out Virat Kohli for creating a huge controversy in front of the media. Twitter users even started blaming Virat Kohli’s “weakness” for losing out on India’s ODI captaincy
Among many, Ramesh Srivats, who is a very popular businessman took to his Twitter and trolled Virat Kohli. Rames Srivats came up with a hilarious Tweet, where he stated how Virat Kohli is pissed off with several cricketers and experts
“Basically Virat Kohli is very pissed off that BCCI is treating him the way he treated Ashwin.”

For the unversed, Ashwin, who has turned out to be the biggest asset for team India in the recent past, was dropped recently during England’s tour after Virat Kohli decided to go with four bowlers in the playing XI, including Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Mohammed Shami, and Shardul Thakur, while Ravindra Jadeja was roped in as the lone spinner in the playing squad.
