Ravichandran Ashwin ends the war of words with Harbhajan Singh with a classy tweet

Harbhajan Singh’s tweet about ‘spin-friendly’ pitches in India created a divide among the fans. Ravichandran Ashwin has been in brilliant form and he became the third quickest cricketer to take 20 five-wicket hauls in Test cricket. Ashwin was also awarded man of the series for taking 27 wickets in the recently concluded Test series against New Zealand.

Harbhajan Singh recently made a statement that the spin pitches during India’s final Test match with New Zealand in Indore were “tailor-made.” Many believed that his comments were targeted towards Ravichandran Ashwin, who ran through Kiwi’s batting line-up every time he came out to bowl.

But, Ravichandran Ashwin, in a very classy move, used his following on Twitter to end the cold war and unite the Indian cricket fans again. This is what Ravichandran Ashwin tweeted:

“Harbhajan Singh has been an inspiration and I started bowling off spin only after seeing the 2001 series [when he remained sensational as he picked up 32 wickets in a three-match Test series against Australia]. This banter going on is unhealthy,” tweeted Ashwin on Monday. “By pitting players against each other we aren’t going to gain anything but just a juicy headline. Let’s respect people and keep the game healthy.”

Harbhajan Singh also replied and gave his justification!
