“This Is Out Of My Book”: Ravindra Jadeja Gave A Hilarious Response When Asked About Rishabh Pant’s Exclusion From Playing XI

Last updated:

Ravindra Jadeja was in an amusing mood in his press conference on Tuesday, a day before India’s second Group match, against Hong Kong in Dubai. He gave a few funny replies to journalists’ questions leaving the room in laughter.

As soon as he arrived in the press conference room, he was met with cheers.“Bakra mil gaya kya (Found your sacrificial lamb, have you)?” Jadeja joked eliciting chuckles from the reporters.

His jolly mood comes from the fact that the southpaw played a crucial role in India’s victory over Pakistan, on Sunday: he scored 35 runs off 29 balls, and was involved in two important partnerships with Suryakumare Yadav and Hardik Pandya.

Ravindra Jadeja’s epic reply when asked about Rishabh Pant:

Another talking point from that game was the exclusion of Rishabh Pant as India went with veteran finisher Dinesh Karthik. That created quite a debate among fans and experts, all of whom also pondered about Pant’s future on the side.

In the press conference, Ravindra Jadeja was asked about why Pant wasn’t played and whether will he be benched further as well.

The southpaw gave a hilarious response, saying: “I absolutely don’t know this. This is a question out of my book,” leaving everyone in the room with hearty laughter.

It was about to get even more hysterical when Jadeja was asked about the rumours of his injury during the IPL 2022 and him leaving CSK mid-season because of being sacked as the captain, and the possibility of him being dropped from India’s T20I team for Asia Cup 2022 and T20 World Cup 2022.

Jadeja responded with a rib-tickling answer that got everyone bursting.

“Once I even heard a rumour that I had died; it can’t be bigger than that. I don’t think too much about it. I just focus on my work, try to play well and perform,” Jadeja replied.

Will India take Hong Kong lightly?

The last time India met Hong Kong was in the 2018 Asia Cup where Hong Kong almost pulled off a great upset but lost by only 26 runs.

Clearly that almost loss is in India’s mind going by Jadeja’s assertion that India will not take Hong Kong lightly.

“Definitely we are going to play with a positive mindset and we are not going to take them lightly because in T20 on a given day anything could happen. So will look to play positive cricket and give our best,” the all-rounder added.
