Rohit Sharma’s wife, Ritika Sajdeh, has given a heart-warming reaction to a video post by a fan who revered the “selfless captain” that is Rohit.
The tenure of Rohit Sharma as the Mumbai Indians captain came to an end a couple of months ago when Mumbai Indians announced Hardik Pandya as their new skipper. Pandya, who was with MI from 2015 to 2021, captained the Gujarat Titans brilliantly in the last two seasons but returned to MI through a record-breaking trade in the trade window before the auction.
A huge number of Mumbai Indians fans were unhappy with the franchise replacing Rohit as the captain with Hardik Pandya and they lashed out at MI management and owners on social media. Ritika Sajdeh, too, made a sensational comment a few weeks ago on coach Mark Boucher’s explanation of why they took the decision to replace Rohit with Hardik as the helm.
Now, through another Instagram comment on a video post hailing Rohit Sharma, Ritika Sajdeh expressed her emotions.
The video is captioned, “Is selfless captain ko yaad rakhoge na (You will remember this selfless captain right)?”
Ritika commented with a smiley emjoi with tears filling up the eyes.

Controversy between Ritika Sajdeh and Mark Boucher
Earlier this month, MI coach Mark Boucher appeared on the Smash Sports podcast, where he explained that removing Rohit as the captain was purely a “cricketing decision”.
“I think it was purely a cricketing decision. We saw the window period to get Hardik back as a player. For me it’s a transition phase. A lot of people don’t understand in India, people get quite emotional, but you know you take the emotions away from it. I think it’s just more of a cricketing decision that was made and I do think it is going to bring the best out of Rohit as a person as a player. Just let him go out and enjoy and score some good runs,” Mark Boucher said.
Unhappy with this explanation from Boucher, Ritika commented, “So many things wrong with this.”
This comment went viral and created a huge furore among the Mumbai Indians fans, eventually leading to the show deleting the video.
