Rohit Sharma Reveals Hilarious Fight Incident Between Jadeja And Ashwin: India swept aside Australia comfortably in the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023, in Nagpur, by an innings and 132 runs. This win meant India took a giant step toward the World Test Championship (WTC) final.

Comeback man, Ravindra Jadeja was the star of the show with a five-wicket haul in Australia’s first innings, helping India bowled out the visitors for 177, and then he scored 70 in India’s total of 400, and was involved in two big partnerships, first with skipper Rohit Sharma, who hit a century, and with Axar Patel, who scored 84.

Centurion Rohit Sharma, who hit his 9th Test century and first against Australia, and R Ashwin, who took his career’s 31st five-fer and and 6th against Australia, also hogged the limelight in Nagpur.

Rohit Sharma speaks of the hilarious competition between Jadeja and Ashwin

After the match and after the post-match presentation, Rohit Sharma did a light-hearted interview with commentators Irfan Pathan and Deep Dasgupta for Star Sports, wherein Rohit was at his hilarious best, revealing funny stuff from the game.

He was asked about how he manages three spinners, all of whom want a piece of the Australian batters and want to take wickets on helpful pitches. In his typical, comical Bambaiya accent, Rohit Sharma revealed that both Jadeja and Ashwin had tussle in the middle as both were approaching milestones and both wanted to bowl from that one end that was favoring the bowlers.

“Jadeja was saying, ‘ Main 249 wickets pe hu yaar mujhe 250 chahiye (I am on 249 wickets and I want to get the 250th. Give me the ball). Ravichandran Ashwin, who has taken 450 wickets, but still said ‘Maine 4 wickets liye hai mujhe 5 chahiye (I want to pick the five-wicket haul)’,” Rohit said, leaving Irfan and Dasgupta in splits.

Earlier, at the presentation ceremony, Sharma spoke of his innings and his plans to tackle the pitch and the Aussie spinners.

“The last few years, the kind of pitches we are playing in India, you need to have application and some sort of plan to score runs. I’ve grown up playing a lot in Mumbai on surfaces that turns a lot. You need to be slightly unorthodox as well, use your feet. Need to put pressure on bowlers as well by doing something different. And that different could be whatever suits you – using your feet, sweeping, reverse-sweeping,” Rohit said.

The second Test will be played in Delhi from February 17.
