Rohit Sharma Or Hardik Pandya? The Hunt For The Better Leader For Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians made all the right noises until now before they announced Hardik Pandya as the new captain. Obviously the fans weren’t happy and why would they be? After all, their favourite Rohit Sharma was taken down and the situation is such that he may not be a part of the tournament anymore and that is scary to be honest.

Well, when we take a look at Hardik Pandya the captain, how good is he? Is he good enough to build the right empire that the Hitman did in Mumbai? Or will he be another cog in the wheel who would possibly be a lead-up to another modest season? You never know. However, here is a comparison of the two and what should Mumbai Indians expect.

Well, Pandya has done good enough for the Gujarat Titans where he has shown resilience, grit and belief and most importantly has helped the team to championship once while propelling them to the grand finale in their second season.

However for Rohit Sharma in the last nine years he has propelled Mumbai Indians to a staggering five titles which just tells you that how good he is and what he is made of. The man knows the franchise inside out and more importantly is a smiling assassin.

However, if we take a look at the numbers in the Indian threads, more than the statistics, Hardik Pandya’s decisions in crucial moments have actually hurt the Indian cricket team. Particularly if you remember the West Indies series in 2023, there were quite a few questionable decisions that left India with a sour taste in their mouth.

From missing out the most obvious moves to making the craziest of decisions, Pandya messed it up big time. With that being said, is he made for tough situations because if he isn’t the reckoning force of Mumbai may struggle to hit the stride which has happened in alternate seasons of late.
