Rohit Sharma Want Batters To Play Domestic Cricket After Sri Lanka Series Loss: The Indian batters had a really tough time in playing the crafty Sri Lankan spinners during the ODI series against Sri Lanka. The batters failed to adjust to the slow and turning wickets and were trapped in every game. They had a dismal batting performance which is quite a humiliation for them. However, it is not just one series. Team India have struggled to get going on turning tracks in both ODIs and Tests. It needs a lot patience and expertise to score big runs on these type of wickets and definitely the Indian batters are facing problem to adjust to these type of pitches.

Many people have raised questions regarding the absence of Indian senior batters in domestic cricket where they play on these type of wickets for an extended period of time. Captain Rohit Sharma talked about the same in the post-match press conference after the 2-0 drubbing in the hands of Sri Lanka.

Rohit Sharma Want Batters To Play Domestic Cricket After Sri Lanka Series Loss

Rohit Sharma emphasized the importance of domestic cricket following India’s 2-0 series defeat against Sri Lanka. He highlighted that domestic cricket serves as the backbone of Indian cricket, as it is the primary source for selecting players for Test matches and ODIs. Sharma pointed out that playing in the domestic circuit is crucial for developing the skills and resilience needed to succeed at the international level.

Rohit Sharma said, “It’s very important to play domestic cricket. We mainly pick players for Tests and ODIs from domestic circuit. Our domestic cricket is the backbone of Indian cricket”.

Sri Lankans have beaten India for the first time in a bilateral series since 1997. They were sensational with the ball in this series and also did get the runs on the board in all the three matches. Indian batters failed miserably against the crafty Sri Lankan spinners in the run-chase in all the three matches.
