He highlighted that domestic cricket serves as the backbone of Indian cricket, as it is the primary source for selecting players for Test matches and ODIs. Sharma pointed out that playing in the domestic circuit is crucial for developing the skills and resilience needed to succeed at the international level.
Rohit Sharma said, “It’s very important to play domestic cricket. We mainly pick players for Tests and ODIs from domestic circuit. Our domestic cricket is the backbone of Indian cricket”.
Sri Lankans have beaten India for the first time in a bilateral series since 1997. They were sensational with the ball in this series and also did get the runs on the board in all the three matches. Indian batters failed miserably against the crafty Sri Lankan spinners in the run-chase in all the three matches.
