Naveen-ul-Haq made a return to the cricket field last night in a game against the Rohit Sharma led Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. He wasn’t in action in over two weeks as he was dropped from the team’s playing XI. Before this game against MI, fans saw Naveen on the cricket field in that heated game against Royal Challengers Bangalore on May 1, where the verbal spat between Virat Kohli and Naveen took place.
Naveen-ul-Haq Gets Trolled By Lucknow Fans
On his return, Naveen-ul-Haq produced a decent show with the ball, however, he was later smashed for 19 runs in the penultimate over of the game. He survived the brutal criticism as Mohsin Khan held his nerves in the final over to defend 10 runs as Lucknow escaped a narrow win to stay alive in the race for the playoffs.
Earlier, Naveen conceded 16 runs in two overs he bowled in the powerplay. He was hit for a four by Ishan Kishan while skipper Rohit Sharma smashed a six in Naveen’s second over. However, the moment that stood out was when Naveen came into the attack, the crowd present at the stadium started trolling him with the ‘Kohli Kohli’ chants.

In a viral video, the Lucknow crowd can be seen going wild with their repeated ‘Kohli’ chants before Rohit picked up the slower delivery by Naveen and smashed it for a stunning 65-meter six over square leg.

Talking more about his performance, Naveen bowled a brilliant 16th over, giving away only six runs. However, he was smashed for two sixes by Tim David in the penultimate over. He conceded 19 runs to bring MI within touching distance in the penultimate over. However, it was the brilliance of Mohsin Khan that saved the day for Lucknow Super Giants.

Virat Kohli and Naveen-ul-Haq were involved in an on-field spat during the high-voltage IPL 2023 match between LSG and RCB on May 1st. RCB went on to defeat Lucknow away from home but the game saw tempers flare at the end.
