Ross Taylor Gives It Back To Tim Paine And The Stump Mic Caught It

crktlngBy crktlng27/12/2019Updated:04/02/2023No Comments2 Mins Read

It was just another great day for the Australian cricket team as they dominated in the Boxing Day Test at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground. Riding on the back of brilliant knocks of Steve Smith, skipper Tim Paine, and Travis Head, the Australian cricket team resumed the game at 4-277.

While there were many brilliant moments in the boxing day’s match, however, there was one that left us all in splits. In the boxing day match, after New Zealand’s Ross Taylor was handed a lifeline all thanks to the decision review system (DRS), the Australian skipper, Tim Paine came up with the best possible way to sledge the batsman in the middle. And the best thing? The stump-mic caught it all!

Well, it all happened in the 14th over of the Kiwi innings, Australia’s James Pattinson had Taylor adjudged LBW by the on-field umpire. However, the Kiwi batsman was unsure about it and thus chose to review the call. In the review, it showed that the delivery was missing the leg-stump.

After this, Tim Paine came out with a hilarious sledge on the Kiwi batsman summarizing that maybe Taylor knows the person who is in charge of the delivery tracking in DRS.

Captioning the video as “He knows the bloke in the truck“, the official Twitter handle of Cricket.com.au shared the video of the same. In the video, Tim Paine can be heard saying from behind the stumps:

“That’s twice I have seen him dead out plumb and not given. Broady (Stuart Broad) hit him on the pad in New Zealand, that was absolutely hitting middle-stump and missing leg. He knows the bloke in the truck,”

To which, Taylor came up with a hilarious reply and said: “…I actually hit that one in New Zealand.”
