Star Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant has found himself at the receiving end of criticism and trolling as he continues to struggle with the bat. Rishabh Pant, who is India’s stand-in skipper for the ongoing five-match T20I series against South Africa, has been going through a rough patch for quite some time now.
While he has been sensational in Test cricket for India, he has been struggling badly to replicate the same in T20I format
Rishabh Pant Continues To Struggle

After enduring a below-par season in the Indian Premier League with the bat, Pant has been struggling to score runs in the ongoing 5-match t20I series. He has failed to give the best of his abilities.
In the 4th T20I game against South Africa, Rishabh Pant got out after scoring 17 off 13 deliveries. Before this knock, he was dismissed for 29,5 and 6 runs in the previous 3 T20I games of this series.
RP Singh Asked An Important Question
Watching him not delivering with the bat in the shortest format of the game for some time now, several critics and experts have been questioning his form and place in the Indian team. Among many, former Indian cricketer RP Singh also took to his Twitter and has raised an important question regarding his poor run in T20I.
In his Tweet, RP Singh questioned why Rishabh Pant has not been able to replicate his red-ball form in the T20I format. He wrote:
“#Pant is so destructive in Test but same kind of display is missing in T20. Why? #INDvSA #SAvsIND #Cricket”

Irfan Pathan On Pant’s Future
Earlier, former Indian cricketer turned commentator Irfan Pathan had also raised the same concern. “Love Rishabh pant as a cricketer but his t20 international numbers need to get better…” Pathan had said in a tweet.
Irfan also claimed that Pant might not be a mainstay in the Indian team if he continues to struggle. He had said:
“He has got stuck a lot, you will have to perform. As of now, you are doing the captaincy but it is possible that going forward a time might come where you might have to work hard to play in the XI,”
He added: “You already have Dinesh Karthik and Ishan Kishan as wicketkeepers in the playing XI and Sanju Samson is waiting, and KL Rahul (who can keep) is a name who I will always keep in my playing XI. I feel he (Rahul) is the best cricketer. So there is a lot of competition, you cannot keep your bat quiet for too long,”
