Kolkata Knight Riders’ star all-rounder Shardul Thakur was on-fire in Match no. 9 of the ongoing 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League between the two-time champion Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Thursday. KKR was returning to their home ground at Eden Gardens in Kolkata and Shardul made sure to not disappoint the fans in any way.
Shardul scored his maiden IPL fifty and rescued KKR from a middle-overs batting collapse. He also picked up one wicket as well to help the Shah Rukh Khan-owned side win the game by 81 runs. With this win, KKR has now climbed to the No. 3 position in the IPL 2023 Points Table.
Thakur slammed the joint-fastest half-century of the ongoing 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League. He faced a total of 29 balls to score 68 runs. During his stay at the crease, he scored smashed nine fours and three sixes. He added 103 runs for the sixth wicket with Rinku Singh, who also played a crucial knock of 46 runs off 33 balls.
Shardul Thakur Gave An Epic Reaction To Virender Sehwag’s Tweet:
After KKR won the game, fans on social media went into a frenzy as appreciation messages started coming in from all corners. Former Indian opening batter Virender Sehwag posted a tweet praising Thakur and wrote: “Lord Shardul .. Lord Rinku .. Zabardast clean hitting #RcbvKKR.”

Later, during the post-match interaction, Shardulβs KKR teammate Rahmanullah Gurbaz told him about Sehwag’s tweet, and he came up with an epic reaction. Thakur thanked Sehwag for praising his fiery knock. He said:
“Paaji, aap se hi to seekhe hai! Aap to Guru ho clean hitting ke. Aapse accha kaun maarta hai fast bowler ko. Hum bhi dekh dekh ke hi seekhe hai “(Sir, we have learned how to hit the ball from you only. Who else did such clean hitting against the fast bowlers? We have learned it from seeing you play.).
