Lately, the Indian skipper was seen doing experiments with the batting line-up of the playing XI of the Indian team during the ongoing three-match ODI series against Australia.

For the first ODI match against Australia, Virat Kohli demoted himself down the batting order in order to make space for both Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul in the playing XI. While KL Rahul came to bat at number 3, Virat Kohli walked in at number 4. However, his decision of demoting himself down the batting line-up failed miserably as the skipper couldn’t leave a mark with his performance batting at number 4.
During the second ODI, Virat Kohli once again changed the batting line-up and returned back to his original position in the team. However, KL Rahul was asked to bat at number 5, But this experiment of Virat Kohli not just worked in favor of the team but also earned KL Rahul the ‘man of the match’ trophy.

After the first ODI match at Wankhede, Virat was asked about his failed decision of changing the batting line-up. To which the cricketer said that he is allowed to make experiments. He had said:
“I think I am allowed to experiment a bit,”
