Indian batting superstars Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are two of the most successful batsmen in the history of Indian cricket. Both the players have achieved great heights in their careers and are still going strong. Both the cricketers are expected to play an instrumental role in the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023, however, there are questions raised about their spots in the team.
While Rohit is 36 years old, Kohli is a couple of years younger than him. However, it is still unclear how much longer they will continue to play after that. There is a probability that Rohit and Virat are playing their last 50-over World Cup for team India.

Meanwhile, former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly didn’t want to get into an emotional part of it and said that performances will judge their longevity.
“I don’t believe too much in last time, first time. I believe in performances. I think they are 34-35, I don’t know what’s going to happen in the next World Cup. There are world tournaments every year – T20 cricket, 50-over cricket,”
He added: “It’s not like as in the past when we started – one every four years and then the Champions Trophy came in. So it’s about performances and I am sure Rohit as captain and Virat will be wanting to make it a big one not from a personal point of view but from winning it. I think that’s the biggest,”
The Indian cricket team will look forward to ending their trophy drought. The last time India won the World Cup was back in 2011 under the leadership of MS Dhoni. Ever since then team India is struggling to get their hands on the prestigious trophy of the ICC. India has reached the final four stages in the next two editions – 2015 and 2019 but has failed to get their hands on the trophy.
The Indian cricket team will get their tournament underway with a game against Australia on October 8, which is scheduled to be held in Chennai. The big game between India and Pakistan will be played in Ahmedabad on October 15th.
