Sri Lankan Journalist Posted A Derogatory Tweet Against Virat Kohli: Pakistan celebrated its 75th Independence Day on Saturday, a day before India celebrated its 74th year of freedom yesterday. While both the countries celebrated their independence day peacefully, a Sri Lankan cricket fan took a dig at Indian skipper Virat Kohli and tried to steal all the unnecessary attention.

Well, a Sri Lankan cricket fan named Daniel Alexander, who is very active on social media, is a cricket writer. He is infamous for his tweets targetting Indian cricketers. He often insults Indian cricketers n order to appease his followers from Pakistan and Sri Lanka. For the same reason, he gets trolled by fans for his biased opinions.

Recently, he was at it again as he tried to post a derogatory tweet against Virat. In his Tweet, he compared Kohli to Pakistan’s skipper Babar Azam and stated that while Azam played a captain’s innings on Pakistan’s Independence Day, Virat failed on India’s Independence day.

For the unversed, on 14th August, during the first Test at Sabina Park, Pakistan’s skipper Babar Azam played an unbeaten knock of 54 runs and helped his team build a 124-run lead over the West Indies, with 5-wickets remaining. Interestingly, Pakistan was celebrating its Independence Day on 14th.

Azam, who scored half-century off 177 balls at the strike rate of 34.38, resumed on Day 4 Faheem Ashraf (12 not out) on Sunday. However, he couldn’t add many runs and was dismissed after scoring a total of 56 runs.

On the other hand, the Indian skipper, Virat Kohli, who is going through a rough patch in his career, couldn’t leave a mark on his performance. India was playing its second innings of the ongoing second Test match on Independence day. Though Virat Kohli started off well but he couldn’t leave a mark with his performance. He scored 20 runs off 31 balls he faced, hitting 4 fours.

Comparing the knocks of both the skippers, Daniel wrote:

Pakistan captain Babar Azam played a captain’s innings on a tough pitch on Pakistan’s Independence day. India captain Virat Kohli failed as usual on a flat pitch on India’s Independence day. #KingBabar?#Cricket”
