Steve Smith Names Two Best Death Bowlers

Australia are 3-0 down in the ongoing 5-match series. India have turned out to be too strong for the Aussies and now the Men In Blue would look to whitewash and send a strong message across to all the teams which will tour India in coming months.

Australia have been outplayed in all three departments of the game and looked very lacklustre. Apart from a couple of good performances, they haven’t been able to play as a unit and put any kind of pressure on this strong India team.

India are traditionally are a strong batting side but, in the last couple years, they have significantly strengthened their bowling department.  In fact, many believe that India’s bowing attack is one of the best in limited-overs cricket, in the world.

The Australian captain, Steve Smith, acknowledged after the third ODI in Indore that India’s bowling, and specially death bowling, was the key difference in Australia’s five-wicket loss. He said that Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah pulled things back after the 38th over.

Steve Smith also went on to say that Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah are the best death bowlers going around.

“India executed their death bowling well. Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar are the best death bowlers going around. First 38 overs, we were very good with the bat but we could not execute our plans towards the end,’ Steve Smith said.

OUR VIEW: We agree with Steve Smith’s statement on Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. They are two of the most improved fast bowlers in the world, specially in death overs. Both are different from each other but very effective in their own way.

Jasprit Bumrah has a very unorthodox action but his accuracy and control on bowling quick yorkers is very impressive. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, on the other hand, has a beautiful action and keeps things very simple. His biggest strength is to swing the new ball but in the last 12 months or so he has worked extremely hard on his bowling and added more yards.

Indian cricket is going through a great phase where quality fast bowlers are pushing each other for a spot in the playing XI. There is a very healthy completion which will keep players on their toes and keep them motivated to work hard.
