India’s young wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant has been receiving praises from all around for his terrific performance in the ongoing second Test match against Sri Lanka. On Day 2 of the ongoing Pink-ball Test match, Pant scored the fastest Test fifty by an Indian batter as he completed his half-century in 28 deliveries.
Pant even surpassed the World Cup-winning skipper Kapil Dev’s long-standing record of 40 years with his swashbuckling knock against Sri Lanka. Pant smashed the Sri Lankan bowlers to all the corners of the ground and kept his fans on the edge of their seats during his sensational cameo.
Rishabh smashed 7 fours and 2 stunning sixes in his entertaining knock of 50 off 31 balls in the series decider between India and Sri Lanka at Bangalore’s M.Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Rishabh Pant now also holds the record of scoring the fastest fifty by a wicketkeeper-batter in Test format. He has surpassed Australia’s Ian Smith and former India captain MS Dhoni to achieve this feat.
After seeing Pant’s flamboyant fifty, fans on social media went berserk and in no time social media was flooded with amazing reactions from the fans to it. Among many, Pant’s teammate Suryakumar Yadav also took to his Twitter and lavished high praises on the youngster.
What caught everyone’s attention was the fact that Suryakumar Yadav used a meme reference from MS Dhoni’s biopic to laud his teammate’s terrific performance. He wrote:

Meanwhile, Pant and Shreyas Iyer’s (67) batting heroics guided the Indian cricket team to 303-9 d in 68.5 overs. The Sri Lankan cricket team now needs 419 runs to win this game.
