Suryakumar Yadav Shared A Cryptic Post For MI Fans Ahead Of IPL 2024

Mumbai Indians’ sensational batter Suryakumar Yadav has raised concerns about his participation in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League. Amidst speculations regarding his fitness, SKY has shared a mysterious post and has left the fans concerned.

Although, Suryakumar Yadav is expected to feature in the upcoming tournament, there are chances that he might miss the initial phase of the league.

It has to be noted that SKY hasn’t played any competitive game since December last year because of injuries. The middle-order batter was last seen playing for India in the T20I series against South Africa, where he impressed one and all with his stunning century. However, he sustained an ankle injury during that game. And while he was recovering from the injury, he suffered a sports hernia. He had to undergo surgery for both the issues.

SKY had to miss the home T20I series against Afghanistan because of the injury. SKY was earlier expected to return to action in the DY Patil T20 Cup last month but he failed to recover in time. And looking at the latest developments, it seems SKY will take more time on the sidelines to recover fully.

Currently, Suryakumar Yadav is recovering at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru and waiting to get a clearance signal from the BCCI medical staff to take part in the upcoming IPL 2024. However, according to reports, SKY has not received the green light from the medical team yet. He was scheduled to undergo a fitness test on Tuesday (March 19).

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, SKY took to his social media and shared a cryptic post on his story. He shared an emoji of a broken heart and many believe that the star batsman has failed to get the clearance for the first phase of IPL 2024.

On Monday, March 18, Mumbai Indians head coach Mark Boucher provided an update on Suryakumar Yadav, stating:

“Surya at the moment is on the guidance of the Indian cricket team as well. Just waiting for updates on that. I don’t like to micromanage. We’ve got a world class medical team that’s in control of all of that. Yes, the past, we have had a few fitness issues. We are always going to be in that sort of domain of having fitness issues as other teams are as well.”

He added: “Every time I look at my WhatsApp’s there’s reports of other teams also losing players. We trust our medical team that they’re doing the right things. Look, if we lose one or two from fitness perspective, it is what it is. That’s important and we just have to keep on the right track and sharp on replacements,”

The IPL 2024 is set to commence on March 22, with the Mumbai Indians beginning their campaign on March 24 against the Gujarat Titans.
