It rained sixes at the Manuka Oval yesterday after Daniel Sams took the game by storm for his team, Sydney Thunders, with his explosive unbeaten knock of 65 runs off 25.
During a BBL match last night against Brisbane Heats, Daniel Sams turned out to be the hero of the game. He walked in with all guns blazing and turned the tables completely, winning the game for his team.
Before the game kickstarted, Brisbane Heats won the toss and decided to bat first. Riding on the explosive knocks of Chris Lynn 69(44) and Jack Wildermuth’s 31 off 11 that took Brisbane Heats to a defendable total of 178/6 in 20 overs.

Later, while chasing the target, Thunders got off to the worst possible start as their batting top-order was demolished by Jack Wildermuth. However, Alex Hales came in and tried to build the momentum to the game but was dismissed on 34 (24).
This is when the man of the moment Daniel Sam walked in and took control of the match. He started hitting the ball to all the corners of the ground as soon as he entered the ground. The required run-rate was very high but Sam didn’t care about that. He played in his own way and smashed three fours and seven sixes.
But there came a point when the game seemed to be slipping away from Thunder’s hands as the team needed 24 runs in the last two overs. However, Daniel did it in only one over.
Needing 24 runs off the last two overs, anything could have gone wrong from there, however, an over from Ben Laughlin changed everything. The over started from a no-ball and it ended with three consecutive sixes by Daniel, who scored 65 off 25 balls and sealed the game with an over to spare.
Meanwhile, social media has been flooded with amazing reactions from fans who were all praises for Daniel. From experts to fans, everyone took to their social media and appreciated the amazing performance of Daniel Sam.

Daniel Sams batting was never used to good effect by DC; even in T20I, he looked like a player who strikes it really clean.

Ben Cutting said that the IPL and international cricket definitely helped Daniel Sams. He has not seen Sams hit the ball as clean as he’s hitting currently.
