The T20 World Cup 2022 got underway on Sunday with two preliminary qualifying round matches. Underdogs Namibia stunned the world by upsetting Asia Cup champions Sri Lanka by 55 runs before the Netherlands escaped in a last-over low-scoring thriller against the UAE by 3 wickets.
Before the start of the tournament, the International Cricket Council (ICC) itself confirmed its elite star-studded commentary panel for the T20 World Cup 2022. The list includes some of the biggest names in the world of broadcasting.
Making his debut in an ICC tournament as a commentator will be England’s 2019 World Cup-winning skipper, Eoin Morgan, who had retired from international cricket earlier this year. Seasoned campaigners such as Ravi Shastri, Nasser Hussain, Ian Smith, Sunil Gavaskar and Simon Doull will once again appear on your television screen with a mic in hand. Among the female commentators are Mel Jones, Isa Guha and Natalie Germanos.

Here are the Qualifier Groups for T20 World Cup 2022:
Group A – Namibia, Netherlands, Sri Lanka, United Arab Emirates
Group B – Ireland, Scotland, West Indies, Zimbabwe
The top two teams from each of the above groups will proceed to the Super 12 round. There, the teams are divided into two groups of 6 each, with the top two from each group taking spots in the semi-finals.
Group 1: Australia, New Zealand, England, Afghanistan, A1, B2
Group 2: India, Pakistan, South Africa, Bangladesh, B1, A2
The final will be played at the MCG on November 13. Australia are the defending champions.
