India suffered a humiliating loss against Sri Lanka by a margin of 2-0 with one match tied in a three match ODI series. The Indian batters barring Rohit Sharma crumbled in the hands of Sri Lankan spinners on turning tracks in every game. Former Pakistan bowler, Tanvir Ahmed, has taken a dig against the Indian batters after their struggles against Sri Lanka in the ODI series.
Tanveer Ahmed criticized the Indian batting lineup, saying that apart from Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, the newer batters in the team aren’t capable of leading the batting lineup in the future.
Tanvir Ahmed Takes A Dig At Indian Batters
He expressed concern about how the batting lineup will perform going forward, suggesting they might struggle on challenging pitches where the ball turns, seams, and swings. While they may score runs on flat pitches in home conditions, he doubts their ability to succeed in tougher conditions. He believes the bowling lineup might manage, but the batters will face difficulties.
He said: “All the new batters in this Indian team at the moment, barring Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, they cannot carry forward this batting lineup in the future. You see what happens to the Indian batting lineup from here on in the future. The bowling lineup might work it out but the batting lineup will find it difficult. They might score runs in their home conditions on flat pitches but on pitches where the ball turns seams and swings this batting lineup of India does not have the life to bat in those conditions”
Tanvir also asked the Indian fans to focus on their team and not four on Pakistan’s flaws. He stated boldly that Pakistan will go on to beat India if Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah don’t play against Pakistan.
“First, look into your own performances and then have suggestions on Pakistan. If Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Jasprit Bumrah do not play against Pakistan, Pakistan will beat India hands down,” Tanvir concluded.
