21-year-old Mayank Yadav charted up on the speed gun on his IPL debut as he clocked 155.8 KPH while bowling for the Lucknow Super Giants in their IPL 2024 match against Punjab Kings in Lucknow. This is now the third-fastest delivery by an Indian bowler in the IPL history.

After Jonny Bairstow and Shikhar Dhawan had rattled off 101 runs in 11 overs in the chase of the target of 200, not only Mayank Yadav broke the opening stand with Bairstow’s wicket but also took two more wickets – those of Prabhsimran Singh and Jitesh Sharma – to bring LSG back in the game.

But it wasn’t his bowling figures that were being talked up; it was Mayank’s pace, speeds, hard lengths and lines in the stumps that got everyone excited, so much that fans feel he should be fast-tracked in India’s T20 World Cup squad in June as he could be the point of difference with his extreme pace.

LSG vs PBKS: 21-Year-Old Mayank Yadav Leaves Fans Stunned With 155 KPH Speed

Mayank Yadav’s delivery of 155.8 KPH was the fastest ball in the IPL 2024 so far. And it feels only he can break his record this season.

This is now the third-fastest delivery bowled by an Indian pacer in IPL history. While Umran Malik has faded away since last year, he continues to hold the record for the top two fastest deliveries by Indians in the IPL. In IPL 2022, Umran, bowling for SRH, recorded a speed of 157 KPH, which is the fastest by an Indian in IPL and the second-fastest delivery overall in IPL history. Umran, in fact, holds four of the top five fastest deliveries in IPL by Indians.
