Kolkata Knight Riders won their first game of IPL 2020 as they outclassed Sunrisers Hyderabad in every single department to come up trumps. After Pat Cummins and Varun Chakravarthy pulled off a brilliant job with the ball in the hand, Shubman Gill stayed unbeaten until the end that saw KKR carving a remarkable victory, thanks to a brilliant knock from Eoin Morgan as well, who anchored the innings while Gill carried on with his carnage.
It was an absolute pleasure watching Shubman Gill play tonight as the youngster pumped some fabulous cricketing strokes, executing them to perfection and showing nerves of steel to navigate through those tricky spells from Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi that saw KKR home.

One of the best strokes of the night from Shubman Gill was when he danced down the pitch against Abhishek Sharma to blast that biggie over the bowler’s head and hurl it into the stands. He showed glimpses of a classic attacking batsman who knew how to forge the best of cricketing shots and also made good use of the nurdle and nudge technique to ensure the ticking of the scorecard.
KKR sensed trouble when Khan removed Karthik with an absolute pearler. However, it was Gill and Morgan that saw things off until the end to seal a comfortable victory for KKR.
