Sad news for all the cricket enthusiasts who love watching IPL, as Mitchell Starc, the Australian fast bowler, has opted out of the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League. The fast bowler had backed out last year as well citing that he is preparing for the World Cup 2019.
The paceman had once again backed out for a similar reason, so as to focus on the upcoming T20 World Cup 2020. Mitchell Starc has last featured in the IPL in the year 2015 playing for Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore.
In 2018, Shah Rukh Khan’s Kolkata Knight Riders bought him for a whopping INR 9.4 crores, but unfortunately, Starc couldn’t play a single game due to an injury that he suffered during the Test series in South Africa.
Mitchell’s name is not included among the list of 971 cricketers who have registered for the upcoming IPL auctions that are scheduled to take place n Kolkata on December 19.
Well, because of inconsistency, Mitchell was not able to play all the games in the Ashes as well. But he has now found his rhythm and is giving his very best. Lately, Mitchell Starc has been in some great form as he gave a tough time to Pakistan’s batsmen in the ongoing Test series.
His mesmerizing spell helped his team win the game by an innings and five runs. After shining in the opening test, Starc is now making the pink-ball talk in the Day-Night Test at the Adelaide Oval.
As soon as the news of him opting out of IPL 2020 came out, the fans of IPl started flooding twitter with their reactions on the same.
Here’s check out how twitterati reacted:

Mitchell starc opted out of @IPL. I was so much excited that we will see some rivalries and aggression this season. I was a little bit upset but have to understand about his injury problems ahead of @T20WorldCup. Country always comes first. ?? #mitchellstarc #IPLAuction #IPL

Main reason behind Mitchell Starc not Playing IPL is CA don’t want him to play it. 14 to 17 games in mere 45 days in Indian heat is too much for him. CA protecting him like we are protecting Bumrah. Australia need him for big more important tournaments like WT20 & WTC. #IPL2020

With Mitchell Starc opting not to play in #IPL2020, Mumbai Indians already won the #IPLAuction game by trading in Trent Boult (the 2nd best left arm pacer in the world)
that too at a price of 3.2cr…whoever came up with this idea,Thank You— PRASHANT KUMBAR (@always1pk) December 3, 2019

In Starc’s absence I’m betting that Pat Cummins will be the highest-paid this year. And given their past record of bidding big, I’m thinking RCB will want him the most.
