The Indian cricket fans were once again left perplexed by the decision-making of the Indian skipper and team-management after Suryakumar Yadav was dropped from the playing eleven for the ongoing third T20I against England.
It was last month when the swashbuckling batsman earned his maiden call-up for the ongoing five-match T20I series. After several setbacks and snubs from the national selectors, Suryakumar finally made his debut on the 2nd t20I against England.
Suryakumar has been a prolific run-scorer in domestic cricket as well as for Mumbai Indians in the three seasons that he has played for the franchise. He played an instrumental role in Mumbai Indian’s triumph during the 2020 Indian Premier League in the United Arab Emirates. SKY had scored 480 runs in 16 games at an average of 40 and a strike-rate of 145.01.
However, despite making his debut, SKY didn’t get a chance to bat as the hosts won the game by seven wickets. And to everyone’s surprise, SKY was dropped by the team-management from the playing XI for the 3rd T20I to make room for Rohit Sharma, who was resting in the last two games.
Meanwhile, the fans on social media were not at all happy with the decision-making and took to Twitter to express their disappointment over the same. While some believe it was really harsh for SKY as he had to miss out despite not getting to bat in his debut match, on the other hand, many felt Kohli was unnecessarily trying to improve a balanced winning combination.
Here, check out the reactions of Twitterati on this:

Rohit’s return after two-match rest means luckless Suryakumar Yadav has to warm the bench without facing a single delivery in his debut match. Win toss, win match has been pattern so far. If India have to break the trend, big runs needed from top order. Rahul under scrutiny

I would like to give Suryakumar Yadav a big hug, doesn’t bat on debut, out of the team in the next game. That’s tough.

Rohit’s return was expected in the 3rd match but SuryaKumar Yadav didn’t deserve to be out of the team without even showing his skills, KL Rahul was meant to be on the bench tonight (Even though he hits a century today)
Big Hug to you @surya_14kumar, Just Unlucky

I guess Suryakumar Yadav was dropped because he didn’t score any runs last match.#INDvENG
