Nicholas Pooran just pulled off the best save in the history of not just the Indian Premier League but also cricket. Pooran, who was fielding deep in the midwicket during the eight over, put on a fielding masterclass in the ongoing match between Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals on Sunday.
That was an absolutely sensational fielding effort from Nicholas Pooran. It happened during the third delivery of the eighth over when Rajasthan Royals batsman Sanju Samson attempted to hit a six off Punjab spinner Murugan Ashwin. Sanju Samson smashed a half-tracker that would have gone for a six but for Pooran, who was standing at the right place at the right time. He stopped the ball in the air inches away from the rope with an acrobatic save.
Pooran, made everyone sit at the edge of their seats as he dived full length over the rope, caught the ball but knowing that he was over the boundary, flicked the ball back to Glenn, pulling off a stunning catch.
As soon as the moment took place in the field, social media went into a frenzy. Netizens went berserk and started to hail Nicholas Pooran for his unbelievable fielding effort. From cricket experts to cricket fans, everyone took to their social media and expressed their amazement over the stunning save by Pooran.
Even batting legend Sachin Tendulkar couldn’t stop himself from praising the brilliant effort of Nicholas Pooran. He wrote:
