After successfully winning the three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka, the Indian cricket team is all set to lock horns with the New Zealand cricket team in the upcoming T20I series, which will begin from 24th of this month.

Ahead of the series, BCCI announced the squad for the upcoming series against New Zealand via its official Twitter handle. While Rohit Sharma and Mohammad Kaif returned to the squad, on the other hand, Hardik Pandya, who was expected to make a comeback to the national side after a long time, has been dropped from the squad after he failed to clear the mandatory fitness test.

However, what came as a surprise to the fans was the exclusion of Sanju Samson from the squad. During the third and final T20i match against Sri Lanka, Sanju Samson made a glorious comeback into the national side after a long gap of four years.

But Sanju Samson failed to make the best of the opportunity given to him as he was dismissed after playing 2 balls. He smashed a six off the first ball and was dismissed on the second ball.

Isn’t it logical to send the player who is low on confidence and not in form too, to play India A series and try out Sanju Samson rather than giving him one match in the series. Atleast give @IamSanjuSamson one whole series to prove himself. https://t.co/A2GWzjsNF8

@BCCI why not Sanju Samson ???? pic.twitter.com/O07akp99oK

Sanju Samson is the most underrated player.
Don’t play politics in Cricket and ruin young talent.
Why Pant is being given so much opportunities even after poor performance.
We want Sanju Samson back.@BCCI

What is happening with Sanju Samson!! Getting picked, just played a game and dropped again for NZ t20 series @bhoglehar your thoughts

— Manav (@CHANDRAKARC) January 12, 2020

Giving a chance in just one game for rhe name sake and dropping. Woww nice tactics. So you think Rishab Pant is talented than #sanjusamson ? Rishab is still very young. He can wait. Let him play and provd in domestic cricket again.

Can Anyone ask them, why they dropped Sanju Samson. He played only one match, how can you drop anyone after one inning. What would have been happen if team management drop Shivam after one inning, where he scored only 10+ runs. (1/1) pic.twitter.com/spHtmbor05
