WATCH: Varun Chakravarthy’s Bizarre Silent Celebration After Dismissing Livingstone

Generally bowlers like to make a big roar, a guttural shout from their heart after dismissing the most dangerous batsman of the opposition team. Not Varun Chakravarthy.

The 31-year-old from Tamil Nadu, Varun Chakravarthy, in fact, is quite famous for his silent, no noise celebrations after taking any wicket. As if it doesn’t matter if it’s an aggressive batter or a tailender he’s dismissed; it evokes same emotions from Varun Chakravarthy.

The KKR mystery spinner was on show on Monday against the Punjab Kings at the Eden Gardens and finished with a three-wicket haul, his wicket being that of the dangerous Liam Livingstone who was starting to take the aggressive route and could have become a difficult batter to handle for KKR. But Chakravarthy struck in his first over of the match to send back the Englishman.

It was a leg-break from the mystery spinner on length that Livingstone failed to read. He went on a ball to which, frankly, he should have been forward. The ball pitched on the middle and turned a bit beating Livingstone’s outside edge and hitting him on his pads.

The umpire took no time in raising his finger and Chakravarthy, who had been screaming for a few seconds for the lbw appeal, just casually celebrated the dismissal. No noise, no cheer, no loud screem. He simply walked toward his captain Nitish Rana and gave a tender high-five.

He finished his 4-over spell with terrific figures of 3/26 as PBKS barely crossed 150 on a pitch that was assisting the spinners.
