Australia opener David Warner has got back his Baggy Green (his Test cap) four days after announcing that it had been lost while traveling from Melbourne to Sydney.
Warner posted a video ahead of the Day 3 of the ongoing Sydney Test between Australia and Pakistan. It has been reported by ESPNcricinfo that Warner’s backpack containing his two caps, including the original one from his debut Test in 2011, was “found at the team hotel in Sydney although how it got there remains unclear”.
In his video on Friday morning, David Warner is seen holding his Baggy Green and he thanked everyone involved in getting back his cap.
Warner captioned the video: “The backpack containing two caps, including Warner’s original from his Test debut in 2011, was found at the team hotel in Sydney although how it got there remains Hi everyone, I am very pleased and relieved to let you all know that my baggy greens have been found, which is great news. Where was David Warner’s Test cap found?
A Cricket Australia spokesperson said that Warner’s backpack which included his Baggy Green was found at their team hotel, though it’s still not clear how the events transpired from Melbourne to Sydney.
“The bag in which they were packed was found at the team hotel, with all the contents inside. The movements of the missing bag are unknown despite extensive searches and the review of CCTV footage at multiple locations and the efforts of numerous parties since Tuesday,” a CA spokesperson said.
On the field, Warner couldn’t get a big score in the first innings of his career’s last Test match. He started off well, scoring 34 runs with the help of 4 fours, but was dismissed by Agha Salman.
