The love and craze for Rohit Sharma among the fans keeps on increasing day by day. A reflection of the same was on display when the former Mumbai Indians captain got a massive reception from fans at the Mumbai airport.

Rohit Sharma, who was replaced as the MI captain by the management, appointing Hardik Pandya as the new franchise skipper, arrived in Mumbai on Friday ahead of MI’s match against Rajasthan Royals, scheduled for Monday, April 1, at the Wankhede stadium.

MI have lost their first two matches of the season, against Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad, and against SRH in Hyderabad. This game against Sanju Samson’s side will be their first home match of the season and the franchise would be hoping to collect their first two points in this encounter.

Mumbai Indians uploaded the video of Rohit Sharma walking out of airport to his car. There was a significant crowd assembled outside the airport, cheering for Rohit.

One fan shouted “Rohit sir is the best”

Another fan said, “I love you Ro” to which Rohit gestured a Thank You with his hand as he continued to walk.

MI captioned their post: “Dekho woh aa gaya (Look, he has arrived).”

Meanwhile, there is a huge furore and anger among the Rohit and MI fans at Hardik replacing Rohit as MI captain. Pandya was booed by the crowd in Ahmedabad and Hyderabad, and there was heavy name-calling and taunting against the all-rounder. There is a huge campaign against Hardik on social media filled with trolling and abuses.

Amid this, former MI and CSK batsman Ambati Rayudu has made an opinion public that Rohit Sharma should issue a statement regarding the captaincy shift, and ask the fans to not go against Hardik anymore.

Rayudu said, “Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah and Surayakumar Yadav have given their blood to the team. They have worked hard to make it a successful unit.

“I know they all are together, but Rohit should make a statement that he is with skipper Hardik and will help him in taking the franchise forward.”
