James Anderson’s Father’s Reaction To The Pacer Claiming His 700 Test Wickets Has Gone Viral

Anderson began the Test match two wickets away from reaching 700 wickets. On the second day, he got Shubman Gill out, reaching 699 wickets. Then, on day three, he took his 700th wicket by dismissing Kuldeep Yadav. It was a typical away-swinger from Anderson, causing Kuldeep to edge the ball to the wicketkeeper.

When James Anderson achieved the milestone of 700 Test wickets, the cameras captured his proud father’s reaction in the stands. Anderson senior appeared elated, celebrating his son’s historic achievement. This joyous moment came over two decades after he witnessed James taking his first Test wicket back in 2003.

Anderson began his Test career in 2003 with a remarkable five-wicket haul against Zimbabwe at Lord’s, his maiden Test wicket being Mark Vermuelen. Presently, he holds a record 700 wickets in 187 Tests, becoming the first fast bowler to achieve this feat. Among these, 434 were taken at home and 266 at away venues.

In the current match, India holds a commanding position. After England was dismissed for a mere 218 runs in their first innings, thanks to Kuldeep Yadav’s five-wicket haul, India responded strongly, amassing a substantial total of 477 runs. This gives them a significant lead of 259 runs.

Captain Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill both notched up centuries for India, while Yashasvi Jaiswal, Devdutt Padikkal, and Sarfaraz Khan contributed with half-centuries. In response, England found themselves struggling at 21 for 2 when this report was written.
