[Video] Sarfaraz Khan Plays A Superb Ramp Shot To A Short Ball From Mark Wood

Sarfaraz Khan continued to show his class and temperament, and also his improved technique and mindset against fast bowlers. As the 26-year-old played a terrific ramp shot to a bumper from Mark Wood, all those detractors were given a resounding answer who questioned his ability to handle high pace.

In Dharamsala, Sarfaraz Khan, playing in his third Test match, forged a brilliant partnership with debutant Devdutt Padikkal. The pair added 97 runs after two century partnership between Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill. Padiakkal, too, raised a fifty on debut to hint that he belongs to the highest level.

Sarfaraz Khan played a cracking innings of 56 runs in 60 balls. The right-handed aggressive batsman whacked 8 fours and a six in his innings. The best of the lot was a ramp shot off a pacy delivery from Mark Wood, the fastest England bowler. Not only was the shot played with good timing and execution, Sarfaraz also showed some athleticism in going down while bending his knees.

It was a bumper from Wood into Sarfaraz Khan’s body. The batter quickly judged the line and length brilliantly and played the ramp shot over the slip fielders. The third man was wider so he couldn’t cut the ball in time and it went for a four.
