Indian batting maestro Virat Kohli stole the show with his bat as he registered his 6th IPL century. With this century, Kohli has equaled the record of his former teammate Chris Gayle for the most hundreds in the IPL.
Virat Kohli Smashed His 6th IPL Ton
Virat Kohli opened the RCB innings with Faf du Plessis and took the game by storm from the first ball itself. He opened the innings like the destructive Virender Sehwag as he smashed the SRH bowlers to all the corners of the ground. He was on the offensive from the word go.

He brought his century in style with a stunning six over deep mid-wicket, inducing a loud roar from the crowd at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium before Bhuvneshwar Kumar dismissed him off the very next delivery. In an innings that lasted for 63 deliveries, Kohli smashed 12 fours and 4 stunning sixes.
He formed a stellar partnership with Faf du Plessis (71) and together they stitched a 172-run stand for the first wicket off 107 deliveries.
This was the second century in the ongoing game between SRH vs RCB, the first one came off Heinrich Klaasen’s bat in the first innings. He amassed 104 off 51 deliveries to propel Hyderabad to 186/5 in their quota of 20 overs.
However, it was a day to remember for King Kohli as he achieved a number of milestones with his sensational knock. He crossed the 500-run mark in IPL 2023 season. His partnership with du Plessis helped them create history as both the RCB superstars posted the most runs scored by an opening pair in IPL history.
It has to be noted that this was Kohli’s first hundred in the Indian Premier League after four years. He smashed his first century in the year 2016, a season in which the then RCB skipper had managed to score over 900 runs including four tons.
