Former Indian captain and batting maestro Virat Kohli left everyone surprised as he decided not to take the DRS when he got out playing a poor shot against Matthew Kuhnemann. Kohli once again failed to make it big with the bat in the Test format.
Virat Kohli Failed Again To Make It Big With The Bat
During India’s 2nd innings in the 3rd Test match at Indore’s Holkar Stadium, Virat was looking in good form yet again. He smashed some stunning shots as he got the start but he once again struggled to convert them into a big score.
Kohli hasn’t been in his prime in the longest format of the game. Though, he looked here and there but he has failed to rack up a big total in the ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy 2023.
Kohli Played A Horrible Shot In The Second Innings
Kohli was dismissed by Matthew Kuhnemann while playing an average shot, thus his inning ended prematurely after scoring just 13 runs.
Kuhnemann bowled a short delivery which Kohli tried to smack down the leg side, however, he looked confused on whether to pull or flick the ball and he ended up doing neither. The ball struck his pads and the umpire raised his finger.
Virat’s reaction after his dismissal said it all, and he decided not to take the DRS. Having smashed two stunning boundaries, Virat was looking to inflict further damage but misjudged the bounce off the Indore pitch.
The video of Virat Kohli’s dismissal has been making rounds on the internet and his reaction has gone viral. You can watch the video at the end of this article.
Meanwhile, this isn’t the first time that Kohli has failed to covert a good start to a big number. Though, he looked good playing his first match in his hometown in four years, he only produced scores of 44 and 20 in both innings of the fixture at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Earlier, he scored just 12 runs in the first innings of the first Test match against Australia in Nagpur.
On Wednesday, he was dismissed for 22 runs and today he walked back to the pavilion after scoring just 13, thus, extending his wait to end the century drought in Test format.
