Even as Yuvraj Singh attained great success in international cricket, especially in white-ball cricket by playing the lead role in India’s twin World Cup wins this century, the legendary all-rounder doesn’t want his son to become a cricketer. And the reason will make you think hard about the life of a celebrity or a celebrity’s child.
Yuvraj Singh and his wife Hazel Keech are parents to a two-year-old son, named Orion, and a four-month-old daughter named Aura.
The former all-rounder recently appeared on the #TheRanveerShow, hosted by Ranveer Allahbadia, who is famously known as BeerBiceps; on the show, he talked about various topics from his personal and professional life. One of which was about his children.
When the show host nudged him what would he say to his son if he said he’d want to become a cricketer, Yuvraj Singh was prompt in his reply that he wouldn’t want his son to become a cricketer, mainly because of the heavy scrutiny that the media does on children of cricketers. The 2011 World Cup winner added that the media comparing the children of cricketers with their parents is very unfair.
“I don’t want my son to become a cricketer. The pressure the kids have these days, especially the children of cricketers, I feel it’s a lot. It’s not easy on them as our public and media keep on comparing them (with their parents) which is wrong because everybody has different skill sets,” Yuvraj Singh said.

Yuvraj Singh revealed an interesting story about his son. He said even though he’s bought a golf set and has been teaching his son golf, Orion was quick to pick up a cricket bat. He said he’d certainly give support to his son in whatever career he chooses.
“I enjoy playing golf so I bought a plastic golf set for my son. I taught him few shots as he is very young right now and in his learning phase. So, he would hit a few balls and throw them from both his hands.
“One day, he was at my sister-in-law’s house. Over there, he did not pick up the golf stick but took a cricket bat and started running here and there. So, there are certain things which are natural and you can’t really help them. If he wants to be cricketer, I will definitely support him but I will also be Terminator 4 (laughs),” he added.
